Elizabeth T. “Betty” Cvengros, 98, of Warren, entered eternal life Sunday, April 22, 2018 at 9:55 p.m. in Windsor House at Champion.
Betty was born June 1, 1919 in Martins Ferry, Ohio the daughter of the late Michael and Barbara Kish Drotos.
A homemaker, Betty was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. She enjoyed playing bingo and whenever the chance arose, she enjoyed trying her luck at the casino. Most of all, Betty enjoyed the time that she spent with her family and friends; especially all of her grandchildren.
Betty was a member of St. John Paul II Parish in Warren where she was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society. She was also a member of SS. Cyril & Methodius 50+ Club and attended their annual 300 Club Drawing and Dinner.
She was married to William M. Cvengros on November 15, 1941 and they were married for 48 years until his passing on December 6, 1989.
Memories of Betty will be carried on by her two daughters Betty Ann (Ron) Matusky of Champion and Barbara E. Cochran of Howland; five granddaughters Stacy (Jerry) Dungan, Lori Stassin, Melanie (Jimmy) Domer, Heather (Gary) McColloch and Kimberly Cvengros; six great grandchildren Kelly & Kenny Dungan, Katelyn Matusky, William Reese, Kylie McColloch, and Jacob McColloch; and three great-great granddaughters Twins Riley and Elizabeth Atkinson and Mallori Allen.
Besides her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by a son William M. Cvengros; brothers Andrew, Michael, Joseph and Steven Drotos and sisters Mary Stupak and Margaret Plasky.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:20 a.m. in the Sinchak & Kaszowski Funeral Home, where closing prayers will be recited at 9:25 a.m. Wednesday prior in leaving for the church.
A Mass of Christian Burial, with Fr. Christopher Henyk officiating, will be offered at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in St. John Paul II Parish, 420 North St., Warren, Ohio 44483. Burial will follow next to her husband in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to all the caring staff and nurses at Champion Estates Assisted Living and at Windsor House at Champion for all of the care that they gave to Betty and for making her final days peaceful and comfortable.
